such is life.

oh happy day. i've realized that my cord that connects my glorious slr to my computer has gone missing. gone missing as in i probably forgot to pack it in my fury to get everything in two suitcases. blergh. that is truly the saddest of all things. not really, but at this moment i suppose it is.

in the few moments before my guilty pleasure, gossip girl, i figured i'd take the time to write. i was going to show pictures, but alas, my plan is foiled by defective packing skills.

today was pretty good. it was full, but in that way where you spend essentially your whole day getting places. julia and i went to the grocery store, which somehow seems to always be ridiculously packed. it's like maneuvering through a can of sardines down every aisle. i don't know why people insist on taking their whole 8 person family to the grocery store with them, but it seems to be a somerville tradition or something. anyway, enough of that. today was warm enough that traipsing around outside wasn't out of the question. so post grocery shopping, we walked to porter square where we caught the red line to kendall square (which is pretty much MIT). there, we rented some ice skates and did some disco dancing amidst a crew of tweens. during a reminiscent n*sync song, julia and i realized that most of the kids there weren't even alive when that song came out. but it was good times. it was kind of like disco roller skating but in 26 degree weather and with hockey skates and the boston skyline. we figured we'd get hot chocolate afterwards, so we left at roughly 6 and got on the red line to davis square. everywhere is quite literally a square. i'm not sure why, but that seems to be the way everything is set up. we went to this place called the diesel cafe, surrounded by tufts college students. the hot chocolate was amazing. it was just...words cannot describe the beauty of it, really. and then aftewards, we trudged through the snow back to the bus stop where we awaited the consistently inconsistent #88. all in all, a fair afternoon.

but anyway, many apologies for the lack of photos. i suppose these blogs will have to be filled with stolen photos from julia until i convince my parents to send me another package. adieu!
